T.Bakka., O.Burim., O.Voloshenyuk., et al. Media Literacy and Critical Thinking at Social Science Lessons: Teacher’s Guide. Ed. Valeriy Ivanov and  Oksana Voloshenyuk. Kyiv: Free Press Center, The Academy of Ukrainian Press, 2017.

Handbook represents the desire of authors to engage media education as a component of teaching social sciences. The publication demonstrates the ways and opportunities to achieve media literacy and critical thinking skills by high school pupils while learning ‘The Man and the World’ and other social science courses. Media competence can be cultivated among young school learners through this guide. It is more focused on practice. Every exercise is self-inclusive and covers the activity with different media genres and texts. Exercises and tasks can also be used while learning the selective and optional courses, at the educational classes and assignments for the groups of young historians and journalists.

This event and the project on media literacy implementing in Ukraine are realized due to the support of the American people given by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Internews Network. The contents expressed during this event are the responsibility of the Academy of Ukrainian Press and do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID, U.S. Government and Internews Network.
