02.03.2017

In March, 2, 2017, one more workshop on the topic ‘Interactive learning tools and methods in the process of teaching media literacy course’ was held with the support of U-Media, Internews-Network.

This time, the participants were teachers and lecturers of Dnipropetrovsk region universities where media literacy has been implementing in the education process for long and successfully.

At the event, participants got familiar with the topic by means of different interactive forms suggested by Tetyana Ivanova, Ed.D., professor, trainer, media expert.

Taking part in role-playing games and lively discussions, the audience was going up the new stairs of teaching media literacy. Especially interesting for training participants was the game ‘My mediaspace’ with the following viewing of video clips about life values, goal achievements and time management. Visual game ‘Sugar and lemons’ showed how necessary it is to analyze media content that dominates in one’s life, strive to knowledge and self-development and stay in harmony with oneself and one’s basic values.

‘It was a wonderful workshop and very competent trainer. Despite of fact that we have been involved in media literacy for a long time, today we have discovered a lot of new, interesting and practical. Many thanks to Tetyana Viktorivna, our trainer’, - this opinion on behalf of all listeners was expressed by the event participant, Viktoria Pishchanska, PhD in cultural studies, Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy of Education, Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute for Continuing Teachers’ Training’.

This event and the project on media literacy implementing in Ukraine are realized due to the support of the American people given by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Internews Network.
