Morality is not about rules. It’s the choice of the heart. Especially in the darkest times.
In April 2025, in Innsbruck (Austria), upon the invitation of the Cultural Platform Ukraine-Tyrol, an immersive psychological and ethical training “Shipwreck: The Ethical Storm” took place, conducted by Tetiana Ivanova, trainer and expert of the Academy of Ukrainian Press.
Through an interactive ethical simulation, Ukrainian women currently living in Austria engaged with deep moral dilemmas. The training was built around a story of a cruise ship that suffered a catastrophe in the middle of the ocean. Five survivors are left not with salvation, but with harrowing choices — the kind that challenge one's inner compass.
Can betrayal be forgiven in the name of love?
Does the strong have the right to demand something in return for helping the weak?
Who is the true hero when the world around collapses?
The discussion evolved into a role-based game called “The Court”, where participants acted as prosecutors, defenders, and judges. It became more than a game — it was a journey of reflection, emotional insight, and personal meaning-making. A deep internal process that left a lasting impact on every participant.
“Morality is not about rules. It’s the choice of the heart. And together, we learned how to make those choices — honestly, and consciously. I believe such trainings offer not only psychological support, but a space for building ethical resilience in turbulent times,” — said Tetiana Ivanova.
The Academy of Ukrainian Press is proud of its experts, who continue to cultivate spaces for trust, dialogue, and ethical growth — both in Ukraine and abroad.
