The Academy of Ukrainian Press has published a Ukrainian-language translation of the German textbook "Investigation" by Michael Haller. The author is professor for journalism at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and publisher of various journalistic textbooks.
Journalistic investigation has never been so important - and so difficult - as in the Internet age. It seems that all knowledge and information of our world can be gathered at any time. The question, however, is: what indeed is new, and which information is reliable? Bewildered over too much information to analyse many journalists are not able anymore to disclose the essence of the issue they are investigating. The key to this problem is called "methodical investitation". In a comprehensible and systematic manner and with the help of many examples Michael Haller explaines the basics of how to investigate, and describes various instruments that are useful during the investigation process.
The book can be obtained at the price of 40 UAH at the Centre of Free Press, Kiev. Tel: (8044) 230 69 81. Address: 26, Boulevard Lesin Ukrainki, 01133 Kiev.
