EDUCATION CAMP FOR YOUTH OF CHERKASY REGION “MEDIA CHOICE, STOP GOOGLING, START FILTERING”

31.07.2019

In the beginning of July, 2019, the mini-project “Education camp ‘Media Choice: Stop Googling, Start Filtering’” was launched in Cherkasy region.

Active youth of Zolotonosha Vocational School and B. Khmelnytskyi Cherkasy National University took part in training under the guidance of Yulia Zoria and Natalia Stepanova, lecturers of Cherkasy regional institute for continuing teachers’ training, alumni of the AUP’s media education and literacy summer schools. During the section “Media as business”, the participants received the answers to questions: “At what expense do media exist? Are there profitable media in Ukraine? Who are the owners of Ukraine’s TV channels?”.

The participants were impressed while doing exercises and viewing videos and defining the notions “objective” and “reliable” media. A tape about ‘the flying penguins’ triggered a load of emotions. The exercise “Two pilots” helped the participants to try themselves as politicians. The final activity was an exercise “Present”.

Thanks to all expressing their interest in the event!

Please, follow the announcements at the website “Education for Everybody”.
